A woman died this morning when her car collided with the back of semi-truck, troopers say.

Renita Marie Only, 41, of Orlando was driving south on John Young Parkway approaching the State Road 408 overpass just before 2 a.m. when her 2011 Dodge Charger collided with the back of the semi’s trailer, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said the semi-truck, driven by 44-year-old Lazaro Gomez-Hernandez, also was heading south directly in front of the woman.

It’s unknown why Only’s car collided with the semi.

She died at the scene, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Gomez-Hernandez and a passenger in his semi weren’t injured.

Officials said the crash didn’t damage the overpass, but shut down John Young Parkway at the interchange for several hours. Crews cleared the scene before 8 a.m., according to Highway Patrol.
