It ruffled a few feathers when American adult film star Stormy Daniels revealed her plans to testify in the hush money trial involving Donald Trump.

Daniels shared in her podcast Beyond the Norm last week, “Obviously, things have been next-level crazy, since I am set to testify in, at this point in time, March – obviously, that can change any moment – in the hush money case.”

The trial is scheduled to start on March 25.

In case you’ve forgotten the furore, Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 charges in New York City regarding allegations of him falsifying business records that have been linked to hush honey payment made to Daniels ahead of his 2016 presidential election.

Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, 44, was born in Louisiana. She is best known for her work in the adult film industry, with over two decades of experience in starring in and directing videos.

Per Reuters, Daniels claimed to have a sexual encounter with Trump back in 2006, a year after he tied the knot with his controversial wife Melania. Trump reportedly denied the allegations and stated that the payment was put through to stop Daniels’ “false and extortionist accusations”, according to the source.

Reuters added that in 2016, just days before the presidential election which Trump would go on to win, Daniels signed a non-disclosure agreement. This reportedly involved a US$130,000 payment in exchange for Daniels’ silence on her alleged sexual encounter with Trump.
