I want a video card that is good value for money to replace my HD 4850. What is the best option? Here is my system specs:
Gigabyte G31m-ES2C motherobard
Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.5 GHz
4GB DDR2
450W power supply
Prashant Mirjankar 2013-02-25 10:31:29 Go with HD6670 or HD5670 as they don't require any power connections besides the power they get from PCI-e socket..... Anything above these cards require minimum 500WI'm still unclear of your price range and the purpose of graphic card (Gaming, Video Editing)..... AMD's HD6670 and HD5670 are both very decent cards for gaming however HD6670 tends to use less power (Electricity Saving) than HD5670 Imesh Chandrasiri 2013-02-22 10:46:38 the above tool and calculate a suitable GPU.. It's more convenient than asking here! :) select a suitable card and research on internet whether it suits your needs! Tanveer Ahmed 2013-02-20 15:14:14 Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GT 630 2GB Ricardo Moita 2013-01-27 13:54:05 I've upgraded my computed 1 month ago and I bought 1 ATI RADEON 7750 1GB GDDR5 and it works very well. My power supply is a NOX URANO SX 500watts but the video cards supports 450 watts too. Kannon Yamada 2013-01-22 23:17:52 Igor, your CPU will actually be the bottleneck on a better video card.Your overall power supply requirements call for a 200-300 watt power supply. 430 watts greatly exceeds your needs. However, that's not a big deal. Over time, as power supplies age, they lose potency. Also, it's a good idea to operate at around half your supply's maximum output as it keeps it cooler and extends its lifespan. For the money, you are better off with a GT 430 with good RAM on it, like DDR3. You can get a more expensive graphics card, but it will be handicapped by the CPU. For most purposes, however, the CPU is good enough. If you have any interest in building, modifying or disassembling your PC, check out the following links, they're super helpful:Your PC, Inside And Out: Idiot’s Ultimate Guide to Build Your Own PChttps:// To Build a Gaming PChttps:// To Build A Great Media Center PChttps:// Different: How to Build Your Own Hackintoshhttps:// Igor Rizvi? 2013-01-25 07:06:23 Thanks a bunch! :) lordmogul 2013-01-22 23:04:16 Looking at the typical power usage under load of your old card, i suggest a new cards with more or less the same requirements: GTX 660 Ti, HD 7850 are slightly higher in power usage but almost in the same range. And maybe the best your PSU could handle. At the point of money an HD 7770/7750 or GTX 650 would be an good try (but those cards give just a minimalistic performance increase). If you need gaming performance a card like the HD 6850/6870 qould be a good way beetween price and performance Igor Rizvi? 2013-01-25 07:05:40 Bottleneck anyone? Ian Bunting 2013-01-22 07:08:26 The Wattage alone is not sufficient information, since the capability of the supply in terms of connections will be an important consideration.Whether the PSU has a PCI-E (PCI-Express/Graphics Card Supplementary Power Supply) cable or not will determine if some cards can be used or not, because they require more power than can be provided through the motherboard interface alone. Also the quality/efficiency of the PSU is a factor, since a lesser one might not be able to consistently provide power towards the upper limit of its maximum. Igor Rizvi? 2013-01-25 07:05:10 Ofcours it has a sumplementary powe supply, its a 4850 ,dear god.. so much nonworthy information for nothing... Neven Salom 2013-01-21 20:52:51 Just look and search for graphic cards (or video cards, same thing), also known as GPUs, that require a 450 power supply. You can look at the official specifications and requirements on the official websites like AMD and NVIDIA. I've given you some examples below.Sorry in advance for all the links, but since you asked such a basic question, for/in my opinion, I thought it'd be easier to spam you with links, in a good way, of course, to help you out.
