Riot Games will substantially alter the way Time Warp Tonic functions in League of Legends Patch 8.22, scheduled for release Wednesday.
According to patch notes published Tuesday, the League of Legends rune now front-loads a spike of healing from biscuits and potions, then prevents the item from being used again while its healing and mana regeneration per second heals half as quickly for the remainder of its duration. It also no longer interacts with elixirs.
This effect will replace the previous one, which allowed potions, biscuits and elixirs to last 20 percent longer, and caused users to gain a 5 percent movement speed increase for the duration of that potion, biscuit or elixir.
Riot Games explained the decision by stating the rune had provided too much sustain to mid and top lanes, and had become too powerful in conjunction with the Biscuit Delivery rune. On top of that, it described the possible three minutes of extra movement speed as "kind of bonkers."
This change to Time Warp Tonic arrives in League of Legends Patch 8.22 alongside balance changes for several champions, and precedes new skins for LeBlanc, Nami, Graves, Fiddlesticks and Orianna.
