Maggie Lacroix landed in The Big Dog House after the owner of prairie dogs told officers he invited her to his home, and, the next day, when he woke up, his prairie pals were AWOL, records show, reports Will Greenlee in his Off the Beat blog for TCPalm.com in Stuart.
When the man contacted Lacroix, she allegedly told him she was taking the prairie dogs — which, by the way, arent’ really dogs, but cute little rodents that burrow in western states — to a shelter.
The cops fetched the man’s prairie companions away from Lacroix and returned them, according to her arrest affidavit.
