She earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree there. She worked at the University’s television station, KOMU-TV, while still in college. She was also employed by KBIA. Her professional career began at Lynchburg’s WSET-TV as a general assignment reporter. She later joined WVTM-TV, where she rose from general assignment reporter to weekend morning anchor. She received an Emmy nomination for her special report “Dirty Downloading.”
