In 50 First Date, Sean plays Doug Whitmore. It is an American romantic comedy film that tells the story of Henery, a womanizing marine veterinarian who falls in love with Lucy, an art teacher. After discovering she has forgotten him, he vows to reclaim her love with each new day.

Stranger Things’ second season features Astin as Bob Newby. Before Stranger Things, he was known for his appearances in the Lord of the Rings series as Samwise Gamgee, Mikey Walsh in The Goonies, and the title character in Rudy.
