Sara Diamond Career
Diamond is a WJHL nightly news anchor. She started as a weekend anchor at the station. She began her career as an Emmy-nominated journalist at KGAN in her hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She later worked at KACB (now KSAN) in San Angelo, KOTV in Tulsa, and KLST in San Angelo. Her broadcasting career has led her on a variety of trips.
She has donned firefighting gear, battled the ‘Firemen’s Challenge,’ and twisted her insides in an L-29 Delphin military jet. In 2010, she was nominated for an Emmy for Interactivity. She sat in on a Carotid Stent process, tweeting to viewers about the process and relaying remarks from both the doctor and the patient. The highlight of the Tweet cast was speaking with the patient’s son in Michigan and exchanging messages back and forth between father and son.
She is constantly active in the Tri-Cities community. She is a founding member of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Tri-Cities Affiliate and also serves on the boards of Heisse Johnson Hand Up and SteppenStone Youth Treatment Services. She also volunteers for CASA, Children’s Miracle Network, the March of Dimes, and numerous other organizations.
