Currently, Ron works as a play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports Network since officially joining the network in 2014. Initially, He served as a college football analyst at ABC Sports and a correspondent for Black Entertainment Television.
Soon after retiring from football, He entered into a journalism career in 1994 and was hired as an analyst at Fox Sports and served alongside Ray Bentley, Kenny Albert, and Thom Brennaman. Seven years later, Ron was reassigned for the final season of the Pat Summerall and John Madden pairing as the lead sideline reporter.
Pitts was later promoted as the station’s play-by-play announcer alongside Terry Donahue, Jesse Palmer, Marv Levy, Dave Krieg, Tim Ryan, J.C. Pearson, Dwight Clark, and Jim Mora. After serving the network for 19 years, He officially left during the 2012 NFL season and was preceded by Kevin Burkhardt.
