Risk of Rain 2 engineer builds are very much still up in the air. With the game still in early access and only having released about a week ago, strategies are anything but set. Still, some dedicated players have found strategies and items they believe work particularly well with the engineer. Here are some recommended items and strategies for playing as the engineer.
Risk of Rain 2 Engineer Build
The engineer's entire play style is built around its ability to place turrets that automatically target and kill enemies. These turrets account for most of the engineer's damage, with mines coming in as the second most important source of damage. Equipping the engineer optimally means leaning into these advantages.
Bustling Fungus can be particularly useful as the engineer, as it heals not just the player but all of their turrets as well. Also important are bandoliers, as they allow engineers to bypass some of their cooldowns. Finally, keeping a move speed-boosting energy drink will help engineers keep pace with their teammates with movement abilities.
