Roadhouse Grill, a South Florida steakhouse chain, is scheduled to open its ninth restaurant this fall in Boca Raton.
The new Roadhouse Grill will be at Boca Village Square Shopping Center on St. Andrews Boulevard, between Glades and Palmetto Park roads.
The 7,200-square-foot restaurant, scheduled to open in November, will seat up to 200. It is owned by Dawn and Dennis Forgione, who also own two Kenny Rogers Roasters outlets in Boca Raton.
Roadhouse Grill was created in January 1993 by John D. Toole, now president and chief executive officer of the chain. Majority owner of the company, which was started by Toole in Pembroke Pines, is former Kentucky Gov. John Y. Brown, who also heads Kenny Rogers Roasters.
In February, Brown helped Toole arrange a $4.5 million private offering through several Roasters investors to expand Roadhouse Grill.
The chain now has $11 million for growth and plans 10 additional restaurants by the end of the year.
The family chain features a Western atmosphere and specializes in display cooking on an open grill. The menu offers beef, fresh yeast rolls and side dishes, along with homemade ice cream.
