Lanny Carrero of Palm Beach Gardens, a veteran who has multiple sclerosis, rode 32 miles in a seated bike saying, "I don't have the ability to ride a bike in the traditional manner because of my legs, so I use my arms." Cyclists rode 30 and 62 miles in the Frank Stark Ride to benefit Bicycle Advocacy, the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Boca Raton on Sunday July 12, 2009. Frank Stark, a former member of the Boca Raton Bicycle Club, died of heart failure while riding his bike when he was 70 years old.
