Phoebe in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an ostrich villager players can see in their villages. She first appeared in the series in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and has since appeared in Happy Home Designer and Pocket Camp.

Phoebe Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Who is She?

Phoebe's name is a play on the mythical phoenix, and her design makes reference to the fire bird. Her feathers are yellow, orange and blue, recalling a flame. She also occasionally wears a Flame Tee to drive the connection home.

Phoebe has the "big sister" personality type. Sisterly villagers care about the player, but are also blunt and straightforward. Phoebe likes to stay up late at night, and typically gets along with jock villagers, lazy villagers and peppy villagers. She will usually dislike snooty and cranky villagers.

Phoebe's home in New Horizons is much more stripped back than it was in New Leaf. The new iteration is sparse, with a black sleeping bag, a red, blue and yellow table, a wall clock, and a couple other small details. That can change if she joins the island later on in its development, in which case her house is full of lava. Her favorite song is K.K. Flamenco, and her birthday is April 22.

New Horizons doesn't offer players a way to choose which villagers they have on their island. The most players can do if they're hoping to have Phoebe join their island is keep kicking neighbors off the island until she appears, but be warned — there are 402 villagers in the game.
