FIRST TEAM
Gavin Aydelotte, C, Benjamin senior: Averaged 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game; 4-year varsity starter scored his 1,000th point; said comeback against Olympic Heights was his season and career highlights; hit a buzzer-beater to force overtime, another for double OT and winning basket to finish with 33 points.
Jermaine Council, PG, King’s Academy junior: Two-year varsity member averaged a team-leading 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists for the 17-1 Lions; helped team to their first district title in 33 years; surpassed 1,000 points in the regional quarterfinal; also played football.
Cayden Daughtry, G, Somerset Canyons eighth grader: Averaged a team-leading 21 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2 steals for the Cougars, who finished the season at 20-7 with an appearance in the regional semifinals.
Nate Sasser, F, Suncoast senior: Four-year varsity member was most proud of beating Stranahan for the district title after losing to them last year; said best feeling is dunking in a game; averaged 13.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.9 steals per game.
Andrew Sineway, SF, St. Andrew’s senior: Team captain averaged 18.2 points per game, along with 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists; helped Scots win the district title; had two 30-point games and eclipsed 1,000 points.
Ian Smikle, F, Suncoast junior: Three-year varsity memberaveraged 15.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 2 blocks per game for the Chargers; had a game-saving block in district title win over Stranahan; said getting his first college offer made him happy because his family wouldn’t have to pay for college.
Brooklyn Vick, PG, St. Andrew’s junior: Fab 5 selectionaveraged 17.1 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 0.4 steals per contest; most proud of winning districts with his teammates.
Matthew James, PF/C, Jupiter Christian senior: Fab-5 selection hit 1,000 points in a win over Cardinal Newman where he scored 32 points;averaged 9.6 points, 1.9 assists, 8.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 2.6 blocks per game; proud of winning the fourth district title in school history; signed with Northeast Mississippi (football).

COACH OF THE YEAR
Murray Smith, King’s Academy: The veteran coach got the most out of his overachieving team in his 34th year as a coach in the county as he led the Lions to a 27-2 record and its first district championship in 33 years, advancing to the regional finals. “This was a special year at King’s Academy. Each year has gotten better going from seven wins in my first year to 27 this year. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
