Now that we blog ’round the clock, we realize we’re missing a lot.
Like a life.
So we haven’t been to Ocala lately and still thought the place was all about horses.
Who knew that it’s also home to the Hot Tropics Hideaway, a “club for erotic adults.”
The home is a gated, ranch-style residence that sits off a dirt road. It even has a white picket fence.
Nice touch!
The place also boasts a Hawaiian style resort, palm trees, resort-style pool with waterfalls and a spacious walk-around deck.
Friday night’s special at Hot Tropics Hideaway was a “Pick up Artist” contest.
Smooth talkers who thought they had what it takes to charm a man or woman were to compete for the king and queen of the pick up artist. No word, though, on if anyone won the contest.
Not long after midnight members of the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Team (MADET), Marion County sheriff’s deputies and officials from the Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco served them a search warrant, reports the Ocala Star Banner.
No, they didn’t come to join the party.
MADET didn’t see any evidence of prostitution, but they did notice several illicit activities, including illegal gambling and drug use. Three people were arrested.
As patrons exited the driveway, drivers and passengers alike were so embarrassed, some shielded their faces from media cameras, others offered no comment and one flipped a middle finger.
One man said people come there for “drinking and partying.”
Asked if sex was part of the party, the man, who declined to give his name said, “If we choose to.”
The man said he did not have any sex that night, and it was his first time going to the place.
