Nintendo has been showing off newe images and videos of PlatinumGames’ Astral Chain, on top of commentary from Game Director Takahisa Taura.

This time around, we start with a look at character customization.

According to Taura-san, the story has a very different impact depending on whether you play a male or a female character.

(cont.) “The character that was not chosen as the protagonist appears in the story as their younger brother or sister, and I really like the fact that the same story can have such a different impact depending on the protagonist's gender.”

If you’re wondering about the qyestion “Can you pet the dog in  Astral Chain?”

Yes. Yes you can.

[Mr. Taura’s Case Files 07]
“I'm particularly fond of the Beast Legion in #ASTRALCHAIN. If you approach your summoned Beast Legion and press the A Button, you can pet it on the head. There’s no significance to doing so. But please show your Legion some affection.”

We also take another look at the many cats that appear in the game. Apparently, Taura-san is a cat-lover.

[Mr. Taura’s Case Files 08]
"We are often asked why there are so many cats in #ASTRALCHAIN. You don’t need a reason to love and admire a bunch of cats. (Note that there are also dogs.)"

Last, but certainly not least, we get to hear one of the main vocal themes of the game, which sounds perfectly appropriate.
