MLB the Show 21 will be the first major sports game released in 2021, so let's take a look at the most important game modes it'll be offering.
MLB The Show 21 Game Modes Explained
Road to the Show
Road to the Show has been the career mode the MLB The Show Franchise for quite a while, and that isn't changing this year. As per usual, players will be able to customize their own character and take them on a journey to the MLB, usually working their way up from the minor leagues.

However, a new feature this year is the new ability of created players in the Road to the Show mode to leave the mode and join other modes, such as Diamond Dynasty.
Diamond Dynasty
MLB The Show's Diamond Dynasty is the franchise's card collecting and team building game, just like 2k's My Team and Madden's Ultimate Team. Players will be able to collect cards of players all throughout history in order to build the most complete team possible. Players can take their squad and face off against other players and their own squad, or complete certain challenges to get rewards. Last year, a sub-game mode called Showdown was added to Dynasty, where players drafted a squad and used the squad to complete various challenges. It was very well received so it should be interesting to see what upgrades it's gotten in The Show 21.
Franchise
In Franchise, players pick a team to manage and grow, down to their minor league affiliates. They can make trades, draft and call up players, manage rotations, and take control of free agency. There have been rumors of being able to build your own ballpark in The Show 21, so perhaps the relocation ability added last year will receive some more depth.
MLB The Show 21 launches April 20 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S and X.
