Authorities are looking for a masked gunman who slid over the counter of a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant and emptied several cash registers.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday released surveillance footage of the Dec. 22 robbery that happened at 9:23 p.m. at 3061 W Sunrise Blvd.
The footage shows the masked man walk past a line of customers and jump across the counter. He demanded money from the employees, forcing one of them to open the cash register at the drive-thru window.
The robber also yanked out the cash drawer from one of the registers, but couldn’t take out a second register drawer.
“The suspect then climbs back over the counter and walks out with the cash drawer and a Jordan backpack full of cash,” the sheriff’s office said.
The robber was wearing black pants, a black and gray hoodie and black gloves. He had his face covered during the robbery and was seen running from the restaurant.
Authorities ask that anyone with information about the robbery contact sheriff’s office Detective Victor Carrasquillo at 954-321-4270 or report an anonymous tip through Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
