Lesley Stahl is a famous American journalist currently working as a 60 Minutes correspondent at CBS News. Since joining the station in 1971, Stahl has covered for CBS’s 60 Minutes. She is known due to her news and television investigations, and award-winning foreign reporting.
Before coming to 60 Minutes, Lesley was the first two women to hold that job over the Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan presidencies and part of the term of George H. W. Bush and served as a CBS News White House correspondent.
Her coverage appeared frequently on first with Walter Cronkite, the CBS Evening News, later with Dan Rather, and on other CBS News broadcasts.
Over much of that time, Stahl also served from September 1983 to May 1991 as moderator of Face the Nation, CBS News Sunday public affairs broadcast.

She started her television broadcasting career serving as a producer and on-air reporter at Boston’s original Channel 5, WHDH-TV.
In 1971, Lesley came to CBS News and was a correspondent in 1974. Stahl credits her CBS News job to the Federal Communications Commission’s 1972 inclusion of women in its affirmative action mandate.
Her prominence grew after she reported Watergate. Stahl received an apartment in the Watergate complex, moved all my stuff from Boston, and didn’t miss a day of work.
