Birthday: Sept. 6, 1958.
Birthplace: Atlanta.
Occupation: Comedian, actor, author.
Current home: Los Angeles.
Marital status: Married for 11 years to Gregg Foxworthy.
Children: Two daughters, 2 and 4.
Car: A black Dodge pickup truck.
Working on: I’ve got my TV show, The Jeff Foxworthy Show, and a new book, No Shirt, No Shoes, … No Problem!
The last good movie I saw: Twister.
I stay home to watch: Atlanta Braves baseball.
The book I’ve been reading: Sleepers by Lorenzo Carcaterra.
Favorite pig-out food: Barbecue.
My fantasy is: I’m sitting by a lake, fishing, with not a phone within 100 miles.
My most irrational act: Quitting IBM 12 years ago, where I was an engineer with a degree from Georgia Tech, to go out on the comedy circuit.
The worst advice my parents ever gave me: “You’re a fool to quit IBM and go into comedy.” Now they say, “You wasted all those years.”
The worst time of my life: The early years on the road. I’d go weeks without seeing my wife.
Major accomplishment: Having the top-selling comedy record ever. You Know You’re a Red Neck sold over 3 million copies.
If I’ve learned one thing in life it’s: Be yourself, whoever you may be.
Most humbling experience: Performing between a heavy metal band and the Hawaiian Tropic girls last spring break at Daytona Beach. People were throwing beer at me before I ever made it to the microphone. And that was as good as it got.
Three words that best describe me: A nice guy.
