The signs along Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale say J. Alexander’s, but inside, diners are actually eating at Redlands Grill.

J. Alexander’s, at 2415 N. Federal Highway since 1995, is rebranding as a Redlands Grill. The restaurant will remain owned and operated by J. Alexander’s Holdings, LLC., but will offer new menu items including coffee-cured rib eye steak, sushi and jumbo fried shrimp, in addition to previously available fare such as filet mignon and roasted prime rib.

“This transition is yet another way we can maintain our independent approach to the restaurant business,” said Lonnie J. Stout II, president and chief executive of J. Alexander’s Holdings, LLC., in a news release.

J. Alexander’s Holdings also plans to change other J. Alexander’s restaurants into Redlands Grills. The Tennessee-based company has 41 restaurants in 14 states under the banners J. Alexander’s, Redlands Grill and Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill.

In South Florida there are other J. Alexander’s restaurants in Plantation, Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens, according to the company’s website.
