I have lost numerous photographs through accidental deletion followed by wiping free space on HDD. A video disk includes them in its VOB files, but my attempts to extract them either failed, or gave me 76 images for each (the photo plus all the transition images). I can't really work with the 12,000 so produced, so need (free or shareware) software and tips on how to recover just the original images automatically.

2011-09-27 12:05:00 Play the video in vlc media player..pause wherever you want to "extract image"click on video menu..click on snapshot. it will save it somewhere in "my documents".you can use any of the player that lets you capture the screen, you can also convert image frame...time based 1:12 to 1:26so you will have less images to manage. 2011-09-27 10:11:00 convert your DVD vob files into AVI then extract with AVCuttyhttp:// tutorialhttp:// Mike 2011-09-27 10:26:00 I just wanted to add that you cannot really extract the original photographs from the VOB file or any pictures for that matter. It's a video and the best thing you can get is screencaps (or image frames) within the native resolution of the source file.
