The Tiger Prawn in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is probably the best and easiest way to farm bells quickly and efficiently.
It's a method that only requires you to spend 3,000 bells or 800 miles to start.

Hi, everyone! Well, December is here, and that means we can look forward to celebrating Toy Day and our big Countdown event on New Year's Eve. I hope you can join us in making some new memories together!
ACNH Tiger Prawn: How to Catch and Price
The Tiger Prawn is only available on the Northern Hemisphere from June to September. This deep-sea creature is active from 4 p.m. until 9 a.m..
To catch the desired creature, the player must first purchase a Wetsuit for 3,000 bells in Nook's Cranny or 800 miles in the Nook Stop. The easiest way is to go to Nook's Cranny so that you can get it immediately upon purchasing.
Once the player has the Wetsuit item, they can go diving from any edge on their island's beach, rocks or pier.
It may take a good chunk of time for the player to get the Tiger Prawn. Diving can especially be tedious, but if they keep at it and follow as many underwater shadows as possible, it's possible to get the creature that they want.
Unfortunately for players this month, the Tiger Prawn isn't available in December, so they have to wait until it comes back in season.
