How to Capture Survey Drones in Horizon Forbidden West
In order to capture Survey Drones you'll first need to reach a certain part of the story. During the Eye of the Earth main quest, you'll gain access to your Hub. Here, there will be a section with a terminal related to Survey Drones. After finding this terminal, and upon leaving the Hub, you should be able to spot them around the world.
When you encounter a drone, scan it with your Focus in order to highlight its path. From here, you'll need to find a high up location that will allow you to jump onto the drone. You won't need to destroy it, only capture it and obtain its data.
Aloy will disable the drone and capture the data, which you'll then need to take back to your Hub.
That's all there is to it. The trickiest part will be ascending to a spot that will allow you to jump onto the drone. But with some good observations, it shouldn't take too long to spot.
