After talking to a friend, I realized I had never heard a nightingale sing. In fact, I didn’t even know what one looked like…so I googled nightingale to learn a little bit about them.
Nightingales are about the size of a robin and rather plain in the bird world but their beautiful voice has inspired poets for ions.
Unfortunately nightingales don’t live in South Florida but in England they are quite common – one more reason to visit our friends across the pond.
Part of this bird’s mystique is they sing at night and maybe that’s why their lovely song has long been associated with love.
