Despite rumors that Epic Games would return the Ghoul Trooper to Fortnite during the Fortnitemares event, the developer chose staunchly not to do so. As a result, Ghoul Trooper has remained one of the rarest skins in Fortnite.

Ghoul Trooper entered Fortnite alongside the, until recently, equally rare Skull Trooper. At the time, she was positioned as the female alternative to the male Skull Trooper. The two of them arrived in Fortnite before its ascension to cultural ubiquity, and as such they became some of the most valuable skins in the game.

During the Fortnitemares event, Epic Games chose to bring the Skull Trooper skin back to Fortnite. New players were finally able to own one of the rarest skins in the game, while those who had stuck around since the early days received a special alternate version of the skin to show off their veteran status.

Epic Games also seemed to tease Ghoul Trooper's return in the lead up to the Fortnitemares event, but when the event finally launched she was nowhere to be found. Desirous fans will have to continue buying accounts with Ghoul Trooper in their lockers to get their fix, and it will continue to cost them a pretty penny.
