Frank Fiscalini passed away on Friday. He was a dedicated family man and a prominent member of the San Jose community who held positions in city hall and school systems. His age was 101.

Lisa Hausle, Fiscalini’s daughter, informed San Jose Spotlight that her father passed suddenly early on Friday morning while sleeping.

Hausle claimed that despite Fiscalini’s longevity, his death was unanticipated, occurring just a day after he saw a doctor for a physical examination and was given a positive report on his overall health.

Hausle told San Jose Spotlight, “You just thought he was going to be here forever, which is impossible, of course.” “But he kept telling us, ‘I think I’m going to make it to 110.’”

Fiscalini, who became ill with COVID-19 last month and had to stay in a rehabilitation facility for a few weeks, felt well enough to go back to his senior living community last week, only a week after turning 101. He spent a large portion of yesterday with his daughter Jill Peters.

Hausle described her father’s death as bittersweet as he had such a long and fulfilling life, and she and her siblings were fortunate to have enjoyed long lives together with him.

It will feel strange without him in the picture. However, Hausle stated that it was time for him to go join my mother.

Fiscalini, one of seven children born in San Bernardino to Northern Italian immigrants, relocated to the Bay Area in 1942 to enroll at Santa Clara University. He enrolled, postponing his studies, and fought against the Nazis as a member of the armed forces during World War II.

Later on, he graduated from Santa Clara University, attended Stanford University for his master’s degree in education, and the University of Northern Colorado for his doctorate in education development and management.
