We made the list! TripAdvisor reviewers have ranked Fort Lauderdale beach the 18th best beach in the United States, the only beach in South Florida to make the list and one of nine in the state.
Fort Lauderdale didn’t make the “Best of the Best Beaches” list last year. But reviewers on the online travel platform came through for us this year, although they ranked several Florida beaches higher, including Siesta Beach (No. 2 in the country), Pensacola Beach (No. 11), Henderson Beach State Park in Destin (No. 12) and St. Augustine Beach (No. 14).
Here’s what a reviewer from Roscoe, Ill., said about her January visit to Fort Lauderdale beach. She gave it four stars out of five.
“The beach was clean and water perfectly clear. It wasn’t crowded and we were able to meter park right next to our spot. Spent about 5 hours enjoying the sand and waves. Only marked it down to a 4 as from our particular spot there weren’t nearby restrooms. Other than that it was great!”
The best beach in the country, according to TripAdvisor reviewers, is Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area in Hawaii, while the best in the world is Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos.
TripAdvisor says 37% of Americans will take a beach trip in 2022.
If the good reviews continue, we may find a new surge of tourists on our shores this summer.
