Don Orsillo serves as a play-by-play announcer on Bally Sports San Diego for the San Diego Padres, he began working here in 2016. Prior, he worked as a play-by-play man at Boston Red Sox for NESN.

He then studied and graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Communication Studies, he interned under Red Sox’s play-by-play voice, Joe Castiglione.

Don as of now, serves as a play-by-play announcer for the San Diego Padres for Ball Sports ( then Fox Sports Arizona)he began working here in 2006, he came to Fox after he was dismissed from calling the Boston Red Sox during the 2015 season. After he joined the Padres, he stepped in the place of Dick Enberg after going for retirement after the 2016 season.

During his career as a sportscaster, he also worked for the Falcons between 1994 to 1996 as a play-by-play voice and as a broadcaster for Springfield Falcons. Besides calling the Padres, he also serves as an MLB play-by-play announcer for TBS.

Before he worked on NESN as a play-by-play voice for the Boston Red Sox, he worked for 15 years calling the Red Sox games from 2001 to 2015 before he was controversially fired. After he left he’s place was filled in by Dave O’Brien who used to work calling games for the Red Sox Radio Network between 2007 to 2016.
