The Darkest Dungeon Ancestor announcer pack was added to Dota 2 following a new update from Valve. The new announcer pack was first teased in 2015.
Darkest Dungeon developers Red Hook shared new downloadable content updates available in its game, but it also revealed content was available for Dota 2. "Wayne June has recorded a whomping 715 lines to bring The Ancestor’s narration to the aeon’s long strife of Dota 2. We even worked with Valve to get new announcer triggers for some lines enabling The Ancestor to continue in his chiding way," the post read.
The Ancestor, a memorable narrator in the Darkest Dungeon, is now available as an announcer pack for Dota 2 players for $9.99 on the Steam store. The project was first teased in 2015 but updates were scarce until June, when the voice of The Ancestor, Wayne June, confirmed he finished recording the lines.
