Culiner began her broadcasting career as a radio co-host on the country radio show Scotty & Carissa in the Morning. This was a show that aired on Clear 99 (KCLR-FM) in Columbia, Missouri, an award-winning station. Scotty and Carissa, the morning broadcast combo, received multiple honors, including CMA Small Market Personality of the Year and the NAB Marconi Radio Award for Small Market Personality of the Year.
She also worked as the station TV personality for Columbia’s FOX affiliate, KQFX. When she became an anchor and managing editor for the online news startup Newsy in 2012, on-camera hosting became her primary focus.
