The final line-up of 9 members was announced on April 20, 2023. The winning group is called ZB1 (short for ZeroBaseOne).

On December 11, 2021, during the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Mnet announced that there would be a sequel to Girls Planet 999 for boys.
The application period for Boys Planet was from December 11, 2021 through February 11, 2022. Qualifications included male applicants born before January 1, 2009 that do not belong to any company. Applicants could choose up to 2 categories from vocal, dance, rap, acting, and production.
Vocal Masters
- Lim Hanbyul (born Feb 8, 1989): he has worked with big groups like EXO, NCT, and LOONA.
- Heo Solji (born Jan 10, 1989): former leader and main vocalist of EXID.
Dance Masters
- Back Kooyoung: he has worked with SM Entertainment, EXO, The Boyz.
