Billy Gunn was born Monty Kip Sopp on 1 November 1963 in Orlando, Florida.
He is an American professional wrestler. He is currently working as a wrestler and coach with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Gunn attended Sam Houston University in Huntsville. He tried out bull riding with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association in his early years but left the sport behind to pursue a career in wrestling.

Gunn whose trainer was Jerry Grey journeyed on the independent circuit for eight years before signing a contract with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF).

Gunn has made appearances in the World Wrestling Federation now World Wrestling Entertainment and was a trainer in NXT. He was also a coach on Tough Enough by the WWE.
He has featured under several ring names including; Kip Gunn, The New Age Outlaw, and Kip Montana among several others.
