The first of the Coast Guard’s new fast response cutters, the USCGC Bernard C. Webber, is ready for duty at the Miami Beach Coast Guard station. It’s 154-feet long, capable of cruising at 28 knots, and armed with a remote controlled 25mm chain gun and four .50 cal. machine guns. It will be deployed on coastal security, law enforcement, drug and immigrant patrols and search and rescue missions.
