League of Legends' casual game mode, ARAM, is finally getting some serious attention and quality of life improvements in League of Legends Patch 8.11.

The No. 1 complaint about ARAM is having to play champions who aren't designed for 5-v-5 skirmishes, especially when opponents get a lot of poke or heal champions.

Hey guys, whe we gonna get next update? Cant wait for ARAM changes! :)

Patch 8.11 brings with it an Available Champions Pool. Whenever a teammate re-rolls a champion they will now go into the Available Champions Pool for anyone on the team to swap with. This should give more overall flexibility as well as allow players to undo a re-roll that gave them a worse champion.

ARAM will also have an expanded free week pool that is three times the normal size meaning a much wider variety of champions will be available. It also means that players who create ARAM only accounts and stack them with champions like Lux and Nidalee will have a much harder time only getting the broken champions.

The Howling Abyss will now have starting base gates, similar to Summoner's Rift, and should prevent early deaths simply because one team loaded into game faster. Keeping with the trend, The Howling Abyss will also have an early surrender option at eight minutes because the Rift already does.

This isn't permanent, right? Please oh lord tell me it isn't permanent. Don't screw up my ARAM

Getting an S in ARAM was incredibly hard because there are no wards to be placed and very few minions. There are going to be some adjustments to the mastery rating system which should make getting an S much easier.

It always feels like getting to level four takes way longer than it should, and that's because it did until now. Patch 8.11 will change the amount of experience required to hit level four in order to more accurately reflect the normal amount of experience that it takes to level up.

ARAM was long overdue for some changes and these are all much welcomed as they should improve this "for fun" game mode.
