ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — The Altoona Curve partnered with the Altoona VA hospital to hand out hundreds of free masks on Friday.
Cars lined up outside Peoples Natural Gas Field to receive a black mask featuring the Altoona Curve logo.
Representatives from the James E van Zandt medical center say they want to promote the health and safety of veterans and the community.
“In a time like this, it’s very important to promote that safety aspect and give something out that residents can use, like masks. It’s a good reminder for residents as well that it is important to wear a mask and stay safe when you’re out in public.”
The Curve and the VA hospital also collected food donations for local pantries that are helping families during the holiday season.
